Detailed OverviewDesign and Build Quality:
The pre-owned CZ 455 in .17 HMR showcases the exceptional craftsmanship that CZ is renowned for in the firearms industry. This second-hand rifle maintains its robust construction and precision engineering, which is evident in the smooth operation of its action and the overall fit and finish. The 455 series is known for its versatility, with the ability to swap barrels between different rimfire calibres, though this particular model is optimized for the high-velocity .17 HMR cartridge

Performance and Mechanism:
At the heart of the CZ 455 lies a time-tested bolt-action system, refined for rimfire applications. The bolt travel of 43mm allows for quick follow-up shots, crucial in varmint hunting scenarios. The action’s design ensures reliable feeding from the magazine, which is available in both 5-round and 10-round capacities. This pre-owned model retains the crisp bolt operation characteristic of CZ rifles, providing a smooth and precise shooting experience. The .17 HMR chambering offers shooters a flat-shooting, high-velocity round that excels in accuracy at ranges beyond typical rimfire distances. This makes the CZ 455 an ideal choice for varmint hunters and target shooters looking to extend their effective range without stepping up to a centerfire rifle.

Accuracy and Barrel:
The CZ 455’s reputation for accuracy is well-deserved, and this pre-owned model is no exception. The cold hammer-forged barrel, measuring 508 mm (20 inches), provides an optimal balance between velocity and maneuverability. The 1/2″ UNF thread at the muzzle allows for the easy attachment of a moderator, enhancing the shooting experience by reducing noise and minimizing recoil . The barrel’s twist rate is optimized for the .17 HMR cartridge, ensuring stability across a range of bullet weights. This attention to detail translates to exceptional accuracy potential, making the CZ 455 a favorite among serious rimfire enthusiasts.

Trigger and Adjustability:
One of the standout features of the CZ 455 is its fully adjustable trigger mechanism. This allows shooters to fine-tune the trigger pull weight and break to their preferences, crucial for achieving optimal accuracy in both hunting and target shooting applications. The ability to customize the trigger contributes significantly to the rifle’s versatility and appeal to a wide range of shooters.

Stock and Ergonomics:
While the specific stock configuration may vary depending on the exact model of this pre-owned CZ 455, all variants are designed with ergonomics and shooting comfort in mind. Whether equipped with a classic sporter stock or a more modern thumbhole design, the CZ 455 offers a comfortable shooting platform that aids in consistent accuracy

Optics and Accessories:
The 11mm dovetail rail machined into the receiver provides a stable mounting platform for a wide range of rimfire scopes. This pre-owned model doesn’t include optics, allowing the new owner to select and fit their preferred sighting system. The absence of included extras ensures you’re investing purely in the quality of the rifle itself.

Versatility and Applications:
The CZ 455 in .17 HMR shines in various shooting disciplines. Its accuracy and flat-shooting characteristics make it an excellent choice for varmint hunting, capable of ethically taking small game at extended ranges. For target shooters, the rifle’s inherent accuracy and adjustable trigger provide a solid foundation for competitive shooting or informal target practice. In pest control scenarios, the .17 HMR’s velocity and accuracy offer effective performance while minimizing overpenetration concerns in sensitive environments. This versatility makes the CZ 455 a valuable tool for landowners and professional pest controllers alike.

Maintenance and Longevity:
Despite being pre-owned, the CZ 455 is built to last. The robust construction and high-quality materials used by CZ ensure that with proper care, this rifle will continue to perform at a high level for years to come. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the bore and checking the action screws, will help maintain its excellent condition and performance. In conclusion, this pre-owned CZ 455 in .17 HMR offers an exceptional opportunity to own a high-performance rimfire rifle at a competitive price. Its renowned accuracy, versatile design, and potent .17 HMR chambering make it an ideal choice for varmint hunters, target shooters, and pest controllers looking for a reliable and precise shooting platform. Whether you’re extending your effective range in the field or seeking tighter groups on the target range, this second-hand CZ 455 promises to deliver outstanding results in the hands of a skilled shooter.
